Terms of service

Last updated: April 14, 2026

All of our policies:

Policy overview

These terms govern your access to and use of the Safety Act VPN browser extension, our website, and the related backend services that support the browser extension (together, the Service). These terms do not apply to any separate mobile app or other future product unless we say so separately.

By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Service.

The Service

Safety Act VPN is a selective VPN product for the browser. It is designed to route supported traffic through our servers so that supported websites and web services appear to receive traffic from outside the United Kingdom, while other traffic stays on your normal connection.

We may add, remove, or change supported domains, routing rules, server locations, traffic limits, anti-abuse protections, residential routing rules, quotas, and technical features at any time.

We do not guarantee that any particular website, browser version, network, or destination will work with the Service at any given time, or that any particular website will continue to be supported.

Your account

Your account is identified by a 16-digit Account ID. The Account ID is a bearer credential. Anyone who has it can use the account, and we may treat the person presenting it as authorised to use and manage that account.

You are responsible for activity carried out using your Account ID, whether by you or by someone you shared it with. If you want exclusive control over an account, keep the Account ID private.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid access to the browser extension is sold as a recurring subscription unless stated otherwise at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe's own terms and policies.

By starting a subscription, you authorise recurring charges at the billing interval shown at checkout until you cancel. You can cancel renewal through the billing portal we make available. Unless applicable law says otherwise, cancellation stops future renewal and your paid access continues until the end of the current paid period.

We may change pricing prospectively. Any new price will apply no earlier than your next renewal, subject to any notice we are required to give by law or by our payment processor.

If payment fails, is reversed, or is disputed, we may suspend or end paid access to the account.

Any statutory rights you may have to cancel or obtain a refund under applicable consumer law are not affected by these terms.

Acceptable use

You must not use the Service:

Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access, without notice where appropriate, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, created risk for us, our infrastructure, our suppliers, or other users, or if we are required to do so by law.

You can stop using the Service at any time. You can also cancel your subscription at any time, but cancellation does not automatically entitle you to a refund for unused time unless required by law.

We may discontinue the Service, any feature, or support for any browser, platform, or destination at any time.

Availability

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free operation.

Maintenance, outages, provider issues, blocking by third parties, browser changes, legal changes, and network conditions may affect availability or performance.

Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party infrastructure and suppliers, including hosting providers, payment processors, and proxy providers. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of those third parties except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

Privacy

Our Privacy policy explains how we handle data related to the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we will process data as described there.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties, representations, and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the Service will meet your requirements or remain available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service will not exceed the greater of £100 and the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

General terms

If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these terms is not a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

These terms set out the agreement between you and us regarding the Service, except for any other terms that are expressly incorporated into them.

Governing law

These terms and any non-contractual disputes arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
